I've been a 1st AD for 10+ years and as a female in a male-dominant industry I'm actively looking for ways to be more inclusive and have a mind-opening impact on the industry as a whole.

 

I've always been interested in training up the next generation in a practical and compassionate way, since I've been 'trained' by some really narrow minded dinosaurs who shoved me out of the room to go make teas and coffees. I'm passionate about mental health and I try to bring as much mindfulness to prep and the on set vibe as possible.

 

Alex has started her career as a photographer, camera operator and video editor. Writing & directing short films has been a part of her life since age 15, as well as acting in youth drama circles and improv groups. Since 2013, Alex has been mainly working in London, UK, as an assistant director in film & advertising.
